THE LUXE PRESS IS A LUXURY LETTERPRESS, DESIGN & CALLIGRAPHY STUDIO
I've been there, right where you are now! In the midst of planning your wedding, overwhelmed with all of the choices and decisions that are to be made.
I was the bride that never found "the perfect invitation suite". After designing my own invitations, I realized that I could make the process stress-free and enjoyable for other brides. I love all things paper, color and design. I studied all these things at uni for over six years and understand that most brides aren't paper obsessed like me (and you don't have the time to learn all there is to know) but that's why I am here!

I WANT TO CREATE ONE OF A KIND WEDDING INVITATIONS
THAT ENCAPSULATE YOUR LOVE AND WHO YOU ARE.
letterpress
a luxury vintage printing process
In a nutshell, you take a very old machine (mine being from the early 1900’s) create a plate, then press a design.
But this is such a labor of love. There is so much that goes into every single sheet of paper.
01.
First, a plate is made with your design. Text used to be placed one by one, each letter at a time, but now we have polymer plates! We’re able to essentially create a stamp of your design that is attached to the base on the press to print your invitations.
02.
I then trim each piece of paper to size on my (again, very old) guillotine. After trimming, I quality check each piece of paper to make sure it was trimmed to absolute perfection to insure print accuracy.
03.
Next is mixing the ink! Every single ink is hand mixed, which is a process in itself that I took a course on! (Crazy! But the ink possibilities are endless and we’re able to color match exactly your wedding colors)
04.
Finally, we get to go to the press to print! The plate is measured on the base so it’s centered on the paper. Packing is adjusted to get the perfect impression. Once everything is aligned and the impression looks good the machine is inked up! (The nature of letterpress allows printing of one color at a time, requiring a separate plate and a separate pass through the press for every color to be printed.) Every single piece of paper is hand fed on the machine, one at a time. Careful attention is paid to various factors throughout the printing process such as alignment, impression, ink coverage, and color consistency.
